British shooters have performed wellat the World Cup in Lonato, Italy. A strong GBR team went to this shoot, the last before the European Championships, and some good results have been achieved.

Best was a very fine 3rd place in Women’s Skeet with Elena Allen coming third after a magnificent 25 straight in the final. Elena had to shoot off to get into the final but obviously had plenty of fuel in the tank and stuck in a perfect score. Then, however, she had another shoot off for the silver against the Italian Spada. This went on for 10 doubles on station four but eventually Elena dropped a target and thus became third. Add this to her place in the final at the World Cup in Dorset and Elena is on top form leading up to the next big shoot in her old homeland.  In the Men's Skeet, Clive Bramley shot 121 for 10th place, with Malcolm Allen one target and five places behind.

To go back to the beginning of the competition however, first of all we had Charlotte Kerwood making it into the finals of the Woman’s Trap which is a great achievement in a world class field. Aaron Heading was only a target away from the final of the OT with John MacDonald a target behind that again so these boys are in the frame and on the way up.

Steven Scott also made the final of the Double Trap, eventually finishing in 5th place overall, in a final where many of the places were decided by shoot offs. Steven is also shooting well at the minute and should take confidence from his performance. It should be observed that Peter Wilson, a finalist at Dorset just missed out here by one target, but maybe the hot news should be that Tim Kneale shot 147 in the MQS section!! A fine performance indeed.
