ImageMaking her debut in a senior British team at the ISSF World Cup in Fort Benning, 18 year old Jen McIntosh set a new British Junior Record earlier today in the Women's 50m Three Positions Rifle.  Her score of 581 - 198 prone, 188 standing and 195 kneeling - bettered the previous junior record by three points, and also raised the Scottish senior record originally set by her Mum, Shirley, back in 1998.

Jen was one of five shooters on 581, tied for 6th place, and so qualified for a five-shot shoot-off.  She was unable to proceed past this stage to the final proper, and was ranked in 10th place eventually - the first woman to achieve such a placing in a rifle event at a World Cup since Louise Minett in the 10m Air Rifle in 2003.

In the Men's 3P event Neil Stirton recorded a personal best score of 1158 in the MQS match, with Jon Hammond the best in the main event with 1154.

The next events to feature British athletes are the Men's 50m Prone - with 2008 World Cup medalist Neil Stirton, 2008 Olympian Jon Hammond and 2006 World U21 Champion Matt Thomson all seeking safe passage through the elimination stage on Saturday 29th - and the Women's 25m Pistol with 2009 European Championship finalist Gorgs Geikie shooting first thing on Saturday morning.
