The British team of Johanne Brekke, Michelle Smith and Sharon Lee are the 2009 European Champions in the Women's Prone Team event, with the Silver and Bronze going to Finland and Germany respectively.  Johanne was top scorer, tieing for first place in the individual match with 593, but losing out on a medal on the tie-break, ending up fifth. Michelle was 11th on 591 and Sharon - winner of the individual Silver two years ago in Granada - 13th on 590.

In the other rifle events, James Huckle was a single point off the final in the Junior Men's 3x40 with 1150, a trigger malfunction on his first shot to count costing him dearly.  Sheree Cox was best placed in the Junior Women's Prone with 585 and 20th place, Rory McAlpine the best in the Junior Men's Prone, with 586 and 21st place.  Sheree was the only British entrant in the Junior Women's 3x20, with a substantially below par score of 551 taking 50th place. In the Seniors, Richard Wilson was best placed at 17th in the Men's Prone with 593, and Michelle Smith took 24th place in the Women's 3x20 with the equal best kneeling score on the range. The British men struggled in the 3x40, Jon Hammond the best at 53rd with 1141.  In the Men's 300m prone, Simon Aldhouse was 15th with 593.
