Emma Cole-Hamilton became the first British shooter to qualify for a major three positions rifle event in a number of years.  A solid score of 571, including the only string of 100 on the entire range - just a point off her personal best and Scottish junior record - was good enough for seven place.  A steady final of 92.2 kept that place, although she was overhauled by Kristina Vestveit of Norway who produced an excellent performance of 98.5 in the final to climb from 8th to 2nd.

Later in the day, Sheena Sharp was the best of the British shooters in the Women's Prone - 586 giving her 14th place in a tricky and somewhat fickle wind.  Her GBR team mates, Ceri Dallimore and Helen Spittles fared less well, with scores of 580 and 578 giving them 34th and 40th place respectively.
