UK Sport has made the following announcement.

From the 1st January 2009, UK Sport began the process of re-developing the Drug Information Searches and Services it offers to UK athletes. The current Drug Information Database is being replaced and became unavailable from 1 January 2009. A replacement will be operational by mid-2009 that will continue to provide athletes and athlete support personnel with accurate and up-to-date information on the status of medications.

We acknowledge that the news regarding the removal of the service provision of the Drug Information Database may be unexpected and disappointing but unfortunately it has been unavoidable. UK Sport remains committed to providing a comprehensive drug information service.

Athletes can check the status of branded medications or ingredients using the interactive guidance document.

Athletes can search alphabetically for particular brands of medications or for specific ingredients."
