Earlier today, UK Sport announced the detaills of £292 of investment to British Olympic and Paralympic Sports, however as a result of a funding shortfall of £50M, eight Olympic - including Shooting - and four Paralympic sports have not had their individual funding allocations confirmed. Commenting on today's announcement, John Leighton-Dyson, Performance Director for British Shooting, said "We will continue to work with UK Sport and other bodies to ensure our funding is appropriate to meet the challenges of 2012. We have tremendous young talent coming through the ranks and we need to maximise the opportunity to win medals for Great Britain in London. We are disappointed, however, that having supported mission 2012 and made improvements to the way we work as a sport, we have been put in the ‘at risk’ group for future funding." A statement from UK Sport on the decisions announced today can be found here, and the funding allocated to each sport can be found here.
