Jon Hammond shot an equal personal best score of 589 in the 10m Air Rifle Men’s event qualification at the Beijing Olympic Games. Despite a poor first string of ten shots, Jon came back with five solid 10 shot strings, dropping only six points of his final 50 shots for a total of 589 ex 600 (95, 98, 100, 98, 99 and 99) to finish 26th.

In a well disciplined match, Jon gained valuable experience in preparation for the 50m Rifle Prone shot on the 15th August and the 3x40 Rifle event shot on the 17th August 2008.
