Stevan Walton, on the World Class Potential Programme, won the silver medal in the Men’s Double Trap event at the Americana World Cup in Brazil, scoring a personal best abroad of 140 ex 150 plus 48 in the final. Walton shot off with Vassily MOSSIN (RUS) for Gold (141+47+14) and shot 13 to Mossin's 14. Third was Hakan DAHLBY (SWE) after another shoot-off - 139+47+2.

This was an excellent result for the World Class Potential Programme, as Walton is still a junior. He has an outside chance to make the World Cup Final in UAE November 2005, the final selection for this final is score and position related. This result makes up for the disappointment of fading in the third round at the WC Belgrade when he was in contention to make top 3 until the last 10 doubles. Another good result for the Potential Programme and puts Walton in contention to join the World Class Programme. He was 6th Junior at the European Championships Belgrade and won junior team gold with Steven Scott, who shot 125 at the Americana World Cup, and Brad Davis.

Tomorrow is training day for Olympic Trap - featuring Olympian Sarah Wixey - followed by Skeet at the end of the week with Richard Brickell, Clive Bramley and Elena Little competing.
