Day Three

The highlight of today was Mick Gault improving upon yesterday's performance to record a score of 579 for 18th place in the Men's Air Pistol.

As ever in Munich the scores were very high, 582 required to qualify for the Men's Air Pistol final, and 384 the cut-off in the Women's match. The Rifle events were also very strong, with 597 required for the Men's final, and only one of 13 scores of 397 making the grade in the Women's match.

The British team returns home for ten days preparations for the next match - the Intershoot competition in The Hague, with the European Airgun Championships in Winterthur next on the horizon after that.

Day Two

The British performance of the day came from Heloise Manasco, who recorded an excellent 396 in the Women's Air Rifle. Strings of 100, 97, 100 & 99 - with three of the four nines as close to being tens as they could be - earned the Gibraltar athlete 16th place, one frustrating point away from qualifying for the final. Elsewhere, Mick Gault was 25th in the Men's Air Pistol with 577, and Hannah Polak completed her first international match with a second creditable performance in the Junior Women's Air Pistol.

Day One

The small British team attending the International Competition for Air Rifle & Pistol in Munich this week got off to a solid start today.  Ken Parr set a new Personal Best of 591 in the Junior Men’s rifle event to come 10th, just one point away from qualifying for the final.

Georgina “Gorgs” Geikie carried on from where she left off in Pilsen, leading the Air Pistol shooters home with a solid 376, while Sheree Cox finished very strongly with 99, 100 to total 393 and fifteenth place in the Junior Women’s rifle event.

The matches continue tomorrow, with Heloise Manasco in the Women’s Air Rifle joining the fray, as are England’s Mick Gault and Nick Baxter in the Men's Air Pistol.
