A small team of intrepid GBR pistol shooters braved the cold of Luxembourg to take part in RIAC 2009. They were accompanied by a team of 3 ladies from Wales and also a team from Disability Target Shooting GB. Although only a minor international for air rifle and air pistol, the match was clearly being used by a number of strong teams, including Russia and Italy, as part of their preparations for next year’s European Airgun Championships. RIAC was divided into 3 competitions: RIAC I on 17 December which included a team competition; RIAC II on 18 December; and the Ibis Cup on 19 December which included some cash prizes. Among a number of finals places were some notable successes: the Junior Ladies team of Vicki Mullin, Hannah Polak and Dani Jones came 2nd in the RIAC I team competition; Geri Buckley won silver in the RIAC II Junior Ladies event; Gorgs Geikie came 3rd in the Ibis Cup Senior Ladies; and Vicki Mullin was 3rd in the Ibis Cup Junior Ladies.
