Christopher Cloke, a former GB squad member and World FITASC Champion, with a long track-record as a career civil servant in Whitehall, was today named as British Shooting’s new Operations and Talent Identification Director. Chris Cloke Cloke comes to British Shooting with a wealth of experience, not only from his thirty years in a wide variety of roles in the Cabinet Office, Her Majesty’s Treasury, and latterly as head of marketing and customer relationship management in the Export Credits Guarantee Department (based in London’s Docklands) but also his first-hand knowledge and personal success in the sport. Commenting on Cloke’s appointment British Shooting’s Performance Director, John Leighton-Dyson, said: “Chris is a perfect fit for this new role which couples his passion and previous experience of competitive shooting with an invaluable knowledge and insight of how Whitehall works. He will have a wide remit of which the identification of the next generation of both shooters and coaches will be paramount.” Chris Cloke said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to be working with British Shooting’s excellent staff to deliver the best possible support for our shooters in their bids for medals at the highest levels. There is much to be done for this year’s Beijing Olympics and, of course, for London 2012 and beyond.” Still a keen competitive shot, Chris also enjoys following Formula One and MotoGP racing. |
